Hua Guo spent twenty years on the wok line in some of Vancouver's most respected Cantonese kitchens, honing and perfecting his craft. In August 2025 he teamed up with Nancy Ho to open their family-style restaurant in East Vancouver.
The room is cozy and personable — families around round tables, a couple of live tanks along the back wall, and a wok that runs hot all day. Hua cooks with 鑊氣, wok hei, the smoky aroma a burner only gives up at full heat, and it carries through every dish that leaves his line. Twenty years of kitchen habits came with him too — early morning starts, prawns peeled by hand, dumplings pleated before the first pot of tea is poured.
